Hi All

I am looking for a good all round combo or cab/head amp for jazz, slap and rock (mainly home practice at the moment but hopefully looking to be in a band set up within the next 12 months). I am looking at the Fender Rumble combo (100w).

Any thoughts or other suggestions?

Many thanks,

Paul

Good choice but if ultimately looking to be in a band you might find 100 watts may struggle, depending on other instruments and the attitudes of the players.

I had a Rumble 100 combo which I used in a modern jazz band, it was great for that. I actually sold it to the bass player who stepped in after I left the band.

In October my blues band did a gig where two bands had to change over pronto at around 9pm, so we opted to share gear. I didn't know it would be a Rumble 100 combo in advance, and I was slightly concerned it wouldn't be loud enough, but it did the job with headroom to spare.

I have the 100 and the 500 combos. The 100 is loud enough for most stuff I play (pubs) but the 500 has more power (obviously) and disperses the sound better so I use that a fair bit too. Both are cracking amps and, in my opinion, sound best when the 'vintage' button is engaged.
