Markbass CMD121P is quieter than it was

Hi, my Markbass CMD121P combo is noticeably quieter than it used to be with the same bass guitar. I’m having volume trouble even in small venues. There’s a company in Sheffield I could send it to but the minimum labour charge is £79 plus Vat. I’m wondering if it would be best to buy a spare amp head and have that installed. Any suggestions please?

Just checking - is your bass active and have you swapped the battery?

 

What else is in your signal chain?

Hi yes it’s a Sire V7 active bass. I tried a new battery but it’s still as quiet.

Try another bass before you get the amp checked 👍

I will always add if you haven’t done this already ….. try different cables, both guitar and speaker ones. Even one strand of a cable’s wire earthing out can be a problem.

Bridge the fx loop with a short cable. Sometimes corrosion in the jack sockets cause semi shorts.
