petecarlton Posted January 4 Posted January 4 I suppose whether we have one speaker or two depends partly on the proposed topics, Richard. It's great that you're organising this either way! 2 Quote

You'll be a lot more mobile than you expect, the hip will be pain free and completely mobile, but you'll still be in some pain from the surgery healing and the nerves reconnecting. Probably OK for driving, but a whole day of standing talking rubbish may be a bit much. See how it goes - if you can get someone to give you a lift it would be great to see you, but look after yourself first. (My mother had hers done last June and stayed with us for a few weeks afterwards. Medically she could have gone home earlier but was enjoying the company too much ) Mrs Zero had hers done at the end of June last year, so I have some direct second-hand experience. 1 Quote
Richard R Posted Monday at 19:57 Author Posted Monday at 19:57 Evening all. 👮♀️ There are a lot of folks on this forum who modify basses, and a few talented individuals who can make them from scratch. But there aren't many who can actually make a living from building basses and guitars. So I thought it might be interesting for us to have as a guest someone who does exactly that - our very own Robin, aka @Manton Customs, who is quite often at a Bash with his unique creations. The format will be a live Q&A, running to about 25 minutes I guess, and I'm hoping Robin will bring along some works in progress as well as the usual stunning finished basses. https://www.mantoncustoms.co.uk/basses 5 Quote
Stub Mandrel Posted yesterday at 00:19 Posted yesterday at 00:19 Excellent, haven't seen Robin since my last Midlands bash - pre-covid! 2 Quote
Richard R Posted 17 hours ago Author Posted 17 hours ago At some point I'll think about logistics like paying the balance on the hall and how to setup in advance on the morning. Volunteers very welcome. I'm not as organised as Scrumpymike who has already taken advance payments and sorted out jobs for the SW bash in October! 2 Quote

What time would you kike volunteer setter-uppers to be there, Richard? Quote
