Music Man Stingray Anniversary F/S £1999 Swindon, Wiltshire

Re-listed as something has come up (as it always does)🤣

Stingray Anniversary 1976-1996, Flamed maple top with Birdseye neck, aside form a small ding by the jack socket and light tarnishing of the tuners its in perfect condition, zero fret wear, comes with original Tweed style hard case, i've replaced the chrome knobs with black one's as i think they look better (originals of course included), i've removed the scratch plate for a better look (IMHO), something i'd have to try and find.

these came with a satin finish on the neck, very smooth & playable. recent GHS Pressurewounds.

i understand these were made in very limited numbers for 1 year only, a great addition for any Stingray enthusiast.

I think 200 fretted and 150 fretless were made. Could be wrong!

 

Could foresight to remove the scratch plate early on as I've seen some that had the plate removed after a few years and you can clearly see the outline from sun bleaching. This looks very clean. 👍

If the original guard has gone astray, I’m 99.9% sure these guys made the originals…

A total of 1246 Anniversary basses made.

With regards to the fretboards, 713 were Maple, 477 Rosewood, 21 lined fretless and 35 unlined fretless.

Can't remember where I heard those numbers but clearly they were utter tosh! Glad I caveated myself with 'could be wrong!' 😆

To be fair, there have been so many limited edition Stingrays, it's hard to keep up.

i don't understand the thought process behind the bridges on newer & special models with the bridge, what's happened to the bolts that screwed into threaded inserts into the body? it must be better for sustain surely, that to me is a step backwards! (cost cutting)??
