Bassbooksbikes Posted yesterday at 19:50 Posted yesterday at 19:50 Absolute beginner, mid fifties. Been wanting to give the Bass a go for a while. Just finished a Masters so I now have the time. My fingers feel like sausages on the frets but looking forward to beginning this odyssey. I'm wondering how many hours of practice a day I will need to be competent not expert? Currently murdering ant tune on a Yamaha RBX 270 in the right hands it sounds fantastic. Quote
rwillett Posted yesterday at 21:00 Posted yesterday at 21:00 Welcome indeed.  Read, ask loads of questions, post pictures of your bass.  The fat fingers usually goes away. Didn't in my case but you should be fine.  Not been to Glossop for ages, was brought up in Chesterfield but loved the peak district Quote

Geek99 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago There is no set amount of time, or even rule of thumb. Natural talent takes you further and in less time. Those less blessed (me) need to practice things till you canât get them wrong. Iâd suggest a teacher to help you over the rocky bits Quote
