Bass_Junkie Posted September 1, 2007 Share Posted September 1, 2007 i love all black bases, specially the headstock being painted, dont like basses with a really long horn cause i like to sling my bass low. probably using it for rock stuff over anything else. about £200-250 pounds any idea? I tried an epiphone thunderbird (not the goth one) and it was excellent, with a much wider tonal range than i expected, i nearly bought it until i saw the ibanez soundgear. I couldnt recommend the bass anymore highly, ofcourse the neckdiove and its' shear weight is something to think about, but i believe these are only minor set backs. IT SOUNDS FANTASTIC! It certainly cures the next dive. I don't notice any weight issues - mine doesn't seem any heavier than any of my fenders once I moved the strap button. They come up on Ebay all the time for about £275 or so. Very light, Very active 80's Ibanez sounding (ie not at all a Precision) Very fast neck. Mcgiver69 Posted September 9, 2007 Share Posted September 9, 2007 I think your best bet would be among: - Yamaha BB414 (For the money maybe the best bass, but I hate that switch instead of another volume) - OLP (I was quite impressed with the one I played, it was the new ones BTW) - Ibanez GSR200 (For the money another great bass) I think I've narrowed it a bit for you.
