Bernard's musical taste shaped much of the Chic sound. 

I also think Jerry Barnes overplays which is a shame, but Nile did tell him to be himself when he joined so...there's that.

Props to Nile and Jerry for realising that it's pointless to try to make CHIC v2 sound exactly the same as v1.

 

Jerry playing CHIC lines his own way was always going to be the best solution.
