lemmywinks Posted September 29 Posted September 29 If it's the type of device you will get a lot of use from it's still a bargain IMO, there's a comparison with the PJB X4 Nano on YouTube and the Joyo isn't out of its depth at all. Doesn't quite have the same depth but puts in a good showing and the slap tone with the Warwick is tasty Quote
dave_bass5 Posted September 29 Author Posted September 29 For me it was just something I thought looked cool and liked the price. I dont think id get much use out of it as I always use headphones at home and it's not loud enough to use with a band. Might put it on my Christmas list though, as I still think the white one looks cool. Quote
lemmywinks Posted September 29 Posted September 29 I do use a small rig at home, pretty much all my learning is done with headphones but for general playing it's more convenient for me to use a little amp. Since getting a Double Four my 1x10 rig is in storage and about to be listed for sale, I imagine one of these or an X4 would be even more convenient. Quote

Yeah, i think these are a great size for sitting on a desk (mine is white) for the odd blast. i do have a Fender Rumble 25 in my wardrobe that i never, ever use. I suppose i could get that out but thats a lot more hassle. 1 Quote

dave_bass5 Posted Thursday at 18:45 Author Posted Thursday at 18:45 I watched a video today on this and now think I’ll pass at the moment. i hadn’t realised the EQ is boost only. I’ll put it on my Christmas list though. Quote

zonular Posted yesterday at 07:58 Posted yesterday at 07:58 Can any owners attest to if the joyo amp would hold up to a multi acoustic house jam? Quote

Huge Hands Posted yesterday at 08:35 Posted yesterday at 08:35 I bought the 10W Joyo practice amp last year. It sits on my home office desk and is great for quick play alongs, but is very noisy when not touching the strings, and not something I remember hearing about in online reviews. I would hope this one is better for that. Quote

Not specific to the Joyo but reports on the PJB X4 (which this seems to be a loose clone of and is similarly capable) suggest that it can sit in with one or two acoustic guitars but pretty much runs out of headroom to get there. Maybe Joyo will make an affordable version of the Double Four? There's definitely a market for people who want this form factor but don't want to pay PJB money. Quote

I doubt it would cope with a great deal of volume - I'll try comparing it with a BC house jam micro cab plus TC BAM200 when it gets here. 1 Quote
dave_bass5 Posted yesterday at 13:46 Author Posted yesterday at 13:46 This is the video that put me off, although i still think it’s a good purchase for the money. Quote
Stub Mandrel Posted yesterday at 16:23 Posted yesterday at 16:23 Amazon say I will get one tomorrow, in white 🙂 I hope to be able to bring it to teh South West Bass Bash, where it will no doubt be tested to within a microwatt of its life. 1 Quote

First slap and it will go flying across the room 😂 Quote
Stub Mandrel Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago It's not loud, it doesn't overdrive. It is effectively silent. It does an awesome job of clean tones. The secret is a passive radiator at the back, like my Philips W00X speakers. Will run off a powerbank. Compressor sounds great for funk when dialed up. Tone controls all sensible and usable. Will run off a high power power bank via usb c. Has BT and will record via usb c OTG as well. It also looks the business. Excellent home practice amp. 2 Quote
tauzero Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Despite not being a Prime, mine arrived today two days early, which is nice. Nice little thing, definitely not a gigging amp. Sound reproduction through Bluetooth is good. I'm off to gig shortly so can't do much more this evening. Definitely not as loud as the TC BAM200 and house jam micro cab though. 2 Quote

I got a tiny bit of hiss but not with nothing plugged in, so it might be from the M-Vave wireless I was using with it (something I haven't noticed from it before). Quote

Does this fit more in the "third amp" category like the Yamaha th amps? My only amp is a eden combo that's 225watts, I was hoping for something smaller for house jams Quote
