Duroc17 Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Any recommendations for Compressor with drive channel - doesn’t have to be DI - or 2 cheaper compression and a drive pedal. Quote
ped Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago TC Electronic Spectradrive? Love the comp, never tried the drive 1 Quote
42Hz Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Joyo Scylla + Tidal wave sounds fine, if you want cheap. The sound is innthe warmer end. The Spectradrive may be better for getting a bit more "aggression" to the sound which cuts better in the mix as it beside a really good one-knob compression (and tubedrive) also has a really well thought out 4 band tone control. I have experimented a bit with a Zoom MS pedal which (as other multieffects) tend to gain a good conveniency score. Each of these three have a sonic character of their own. The Zoom also run on battery where the other two depend on a 9V supply. 1 Quote
baldwinbass Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Try listening to Fairfield Circuitry's The Accountant - tiny compressor enclosure that also delivers character/dirt/grit after a little experimentation. 1 Quote
Duroc17 Posted 17 hours ago Author Posted 17 hours ago Any thoughts on the Nux Melvin Lee bass DI. No compressor but liking what I hear - I only need light compressor at most and light drive Quote

Really nice tones, has 3 built in amp sims and 8 IR's, which to my ears are better than anything else ive used IR-wise. I sent my firs tone back as I wanted to try other things, but quickly realised I made a mistake. Recently got an EBS Microbass 3 to replace the Nux (this has drive and comp), but decide dot keep the Nux anyway, and find I use it more ay home than the EBS. Quote
