Gully35 Posted Friday at 19:05 Posted Friday at 19:05 Hello, Can anyone confirm if any P bass necks off the fender website are compatible with a Jazz bass body? I have a 2012 American Standard Jazz bass, but I prefer the P bass neck. Is this something that I can do without any modifications? thanks! Quote
PaulThePlug Posted Friday at 21:40 Posted Friday at 21:40 I belive the neck pockets are speced the same... experience would be down to tolerances of neck and body and QC. Might be nice 'n snug, might be a place to store a plectrum! Heel thickness may also effect bridge saddle height, 'decked' saddles? More frequent is the P with a J Neck (like my bitsa) swap so they fit. Quote
fretmeister Posted Saturday at 19:48 Posted Saturday at 19:48 Should fit fine. Be aware Fender do not do final fret finishing on their spare parts so you might have to do that. But that’s the same with every supplier. Quote
prowla Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I've put together/swapped around miscellaneous Precision/Jazz parts and have never had an issue. (There was one where the holes didn't align, so I had to re-drill.) Warmoth body with Status Graphite neck, Squier body with Mighty Mite Neck. The same body with a Fender MIM neck. My Frankenstin bass, with Status Graphite neck. The Mighty Mite fretless neck made its way onto a MIM Jazz body. A Fender MIM lined fretless neck temporarily on a Squier body; I might be waiting for a nice Jazz body to appear at some point.. I've also got a Squier neck I've used temporarily on one or two of those bodies. I previously had a Warmoth/Status Graphite lined fretless. This was the earlier Fender MIM neck on a Squier body (I think I put a Squier neck on that and sold it on). 1 Quote
