Hi, I'm Alan, played guitar as a school kid from the late 60's.

Started with a crappy acoustic with an impossibly high action, rusted strings, a massive split down the side and tuned with a pair of pliers.

The kit is a whoe lot better these days but the skill only marginally so.

Gear:

1989 Gibson 335

PRS custom 22, 20th anniversary

Martin D18

Manson custom 12 string

Cornell valve amp

But you don't want to know about all that six string stuff.

 

Bass:

Ibanez SR1825 5 string (very pretty)

Ashdown MAG 250 combo

 

Regular gig at my local Baptist church each week with most of the aforementioned kit at some point.

Love blues, rock (usually the older the better, Pink Floyd, Gary Moore, etc) but the Sunday gig is more modern stuff and not surprisingly, a little more genteel and subtle.

I was born in Fareham and grew up in Warsash until my family left for NZ.  I've gone back there a few times over the years and very little has changed apart from more houses and less fields.
