Homatron Posted June 20 Posted June 20 Well, I'm not entirely sure what happened down at the pawn shop. I popped in to look for a passive footswitch but I now have a new (to me) Squier Active Jazz bass. I shouldn't have picked it up "just to see if it's any good". When I realised it was essentially unplayed and felt super comfortable I knew I was in trouble. After minor tweaks to intonation and action, and swapping the gleaming white pickguard for an old off-white one from the cupboard it is just the ticket. Looking forward to taking this along to a jam soon. 15 Quote
ezbass Posted June 21 Posted June 21 I hate it when you trip up and your credit card falls in the card reader. Nice score there. 1 Quote
Pea Turgh Posted June 21 Posted June 21 Is that Daphne blue, or some sort of metallic? Slightly muted guard looks really nice. Darkening up that fretboard might also lovelify it further, too. 1 Quote
SICbass Posted Saturday at 18:00 Posted Saturday at 18:00 (edited) If your wife spots the withdrawal on your credit card statement, just tell her it was for coke and hookers. You MIGHT just get away with it. Edited Saturday at 18:02 by SICbass Quote

Good shout on darkening the fretboard for more lovelification. No doubt there's more than a few opinions out there as to how to do it! Quote

Terry M. Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago These basses are almost free when you consider the performance-to-price ratio versus the vintage Fender market. I purchased a new Squier (Affinity I might add) Active Jazz V before Christmas after picking one up to try in PMT (RIP) ONLY because it was the only fiver they had.I thought it was that good. I'm not knocking the vintage Fender market but I'll confess to not understanding the prices whatsoever. Quote
