BassByBeck Posted May 1, 2025 Posted May 1, 2025 Looking to see if anybody knows what 3 band EQ settings Mark used on his bass in the early 80s and his amp settings. Quote
Hellzero Posted May 1, 2025 Posted May 1, 2025 Strangely, he was only using the bridge pickup with mids and treble quite high on the bass, and not that much bass there. The amp was quite the same. This allowed him to play slap and fingerstyle during the same "song" without bothering about the EQ. Quote
BassByBeck Posted May 2, 2025 Author Posted May 2, 2025 Thanks! Im still doing my research on any live performances that show the amp settings. Cheers! Quote
Hellzero Posted May 2, 2025 Posted May 2, 2025 Mark is using his Jaydee's again nowadays, so check new footage as the quality will be way better. 😉 Quote

So, if I understand it correctly, Mark is using his Jaydees again nowadays, because he doesn't need an apostrophe. Right? Ultra pedant revenge. 😉🫨🤔🤦🏻😂 1 Quote
Hellzero Posted May 4, 2025 Posted May 4, 2025 I found this old article @BassByBeck, might be a very interesting reading for you and a good starting point to get that Mark King early tone: http://www.gazzbass.com/articles/articles.aspx?ID=5 By the way, don't worry about thread derailing, it's BassChat's signature. 😉 Quote
