I'm already thinking of mods, probably nothing radical. But I have a Tonerider P-pickup and a Kiogon loom to suit, and pickguards with the right cut-out are fairly easy to come by, so...

So what do you think?  I like yellow basses, this seems a bit mustardy?  But still looks good.  Was this bought to mod or have you decided it needs it?

Uncertain...I may get a Mustang PJ pickguard (it it will reasonably fit) and upgrade the electrics as I have all the other parts to hand. The only slight gotcha with that is the guards have a hole for a selector switch which I do not need.

I've been using the bass to practice, and having messed with the setup to my satisfaction, I'm happy with it.

UPDATE: Well, after the March 2025 Outlaws reunion gigs (ridiculously successful), Sam has returned for Dec 27th. The Wharf awarded us NYE as soon as he said he was coming back, and it sold out pretty much instantly.

Decided I needed to get the Yellow Little (sorry, but it really is a dim name for a Bronco Knock off...) sounding better. Already plays really well. Had a small-pots P loom from wiremaster @KiOgon, got a cheap Musiclily rails humbucker.

Put 'em altogether, and BOOM, away we go.

A bit of context to these gigs: both the earlier ones and the upcoming NYE and Jan 10th at the Wharf are really because Sam has to come back to see his Dad, who is losing a battle with Parkinsons. The family came last time. This time, Sam's alone and the gigs will help in some way to offset the cost of an Oz/UK return ticket at the most expensive time of year.

I need to go practice!

New Years' Eve a total hoot, although unavoidably direly under-rehearsed. No-one minded! We'll do a bit better for the 10th despite not much extra rehearsal time even for that.

Back on topic: the modified Little Yellow (KioGon P-bass loom meant for a Squier Sonic P, Musiclily rails humbucker) played the entire NYE gig except for the 20-minute post-midnight finale. That went to the Squier CV70s P.

One painful lesson learnt: after all this time, don't do extended gigs using rounds when you've barely touched a bass for nearly seven years. It hurts. Back to flats for the 10th Jan, using the FrankenFender P that's been my main bass for lo, these many years.
