Lads...

So pleased with this one. Been looking for a small all tube solution for home.

I was close to pulling the trigger on the new fender adam clayton, but i read some not great reviews.

Really wanted the ampeg but never thought I'd find one in ireland. Did a random search on the local classifieds and this ine popped up.

20 watts is exactly what i need. This won't leave the house for the most part.

It sounds perfect. Full and fat.

Even my wife who wouldnt know a difference said it sounded thick.

Absolutely love it!

Now trying to decide of i get the matching 2x10 or 1x15 fliptop series cabs.

Nice amp although I’m not a lover of the style of it.

Avoid the PF cabs, I had the 115 and it was very flubby sounding and dark

The SVT 112AV is a far superior cab and look good too

For that head I’m sure it will be fine.

I found PF cabs when pushed sounded flubby and not great but I’m sure a 20w head wouldn’t give it much concern

Ya, this is strictly for home use.

Unless its a very mellow jam, i dont think thisbthung will ever see a drummer.

I got the 20 over the 50 specifically because i knew i wouldnt need the volume. I have other options for that!

You should be fine then as it not a terrible cab and for home use it will be perfect.

Ah yeah, I’d forgotten about that one 😁, glad you found one in the end, I think myself that you’ll be fine with a 15, I’ve used mine with my markbass 15 but the Ampeg cabs would probably match better and I think they look good

I’m also not a fan of the PF cabs, the Aguilar db series suit the 50t nicely. Although they are heavy

My aggie there is a GS series 1x12. I believe these preceded the DB line.

It sounds amazing.

But the head wont flip down into it!

I’ve heard people say the lids rattle so my PF cabs were the fixed top style 115 plus horn

Much louder or a bit louder ?

the pf50 through the same cab the big baby ll can go fairly loud but I’d say the v4 is much louder, it has a different sound though, a bit hard to explain, the eq works really well and you can get a nice warm tone, great with a precision

I would love to have one of these, or the 50W PF-50T version.

Love the fact that it got a transformer DI out, meaning you get the full poweramp and transformer sound from that DI, and could just run it into a poweramp if the relatively low wattage of the amp is not enough, but still have the sound of the full amp.

I actually once owned a 60W Ampeg B-15, the 1968 version of the B-15S, which I very much regret being stupid enough to sell, it was a phenomenal amp.

And despite its age, and taking quite a bit of abuse in the about 12 years period where I owned it, I never had any issues whatsoever with it.

Congratulations! :i-m_so_happy:

Edit!!!: Also these amps look damn cool, got to be the coolest amp design ever!

I still think Ampeg is my favourite amp brand and I’ve owned

SVT-CL

V4B x 2off

Ampeg PF500

Ampeg PF800

About to become a PF800 owner again soon as I prefer the look of them compared to the Venture Series

Same here, after many many amps it’s the one I’ve settled on, can’t see me using anything else in the future

Ya, when i lives in SF i had a B18N which i had to leave behind when i moved to London (along with my MB Bass 400+ and my TE quatravalve) and i always wanted another tube amp, just for home practice.

I wouldve taken the pf20t or the 50t. The volume is more than enough for my usage on it. Ive got more powerful amps if i need them. And yeah, the fact that you can run it direct with no load is killer!

It is the most beautiful amp ever created. I think these newer ones are even cooler looking. And the fliptop always impresses!

Absolutely love it.
