Can I use regular strings on a short scale (Mustang)?

Should be fine, I use regular scale Elixir 50-105 on mine.

Another ‘will be fine’ from me. The JMJ Mustangs come supplied with standard length Fender flats.

I use standard EB cobalt flats on mine, no issues.

A "you might not be fine" here - one time I was impatient and tried to use long scale flats on a short scale bass, when I was winding the E string onto the tuner, the string basically exploded and unravelled as it was being bent round and tightened up. It's the only bass string I've ever broken.
