I am looking for a new bass for recording and have tried out the Fender player P bass and also the Fender player plus series bass. I went into Peach Music with the thought that I'd come out with a Fender CS or at least a US series bass. This topped them all. Tried quite a few Player basses, but I've always thought the quality simply doesn't justify the price. Especially now, compared to the 40th Anniversary Squier basses. This one's right up there with the Vintera basses. Could've bought a Vintera, could've bought two...but I didn't. Bought the Vintage Precision and the Jazz. asingardenof Posted November 1, 2023 Share Posted November 1, 2023 If you're looking at a Player Plus it might be worth hanging on for an alternative like Sire, G&L, the new Sadowsky MetroExpress range (when they finally hit the UK in anger), etc. as they'll be a) cheaper and b) arguably better.
