Agreed, I did like the Lego look, but the black is cooler.

Black is cool, Henry Ford got it right 👍

They sound quite nice as well. I've had zero chance to wind them up due to various things, it'll probably be the weekend before I can try.

I think I had a full sheet cut into four, one is going to be a sprayt booth, I built two cabs and I have one quarter uncut, so I could make a 3rd 8" speaker OR a 6" House Jam or I could just leave it in the garage to rot away :)

So I think 1220 x 1220 is half a 8" x 4" ft sheet so you should get two out of them.

If you do cut them yourself, then I would change one or two dimensions by 2mm or so. It makes zero difference to the volume but makes cutting a little easier. There's something on this in the thread where I discussed it. Basically make the sides 276mm wide rather than 274mm wide, and the top/bottom 276mm rather than 274mm. This extra 2mm should be at the front of the cab and so the volume doesn't change but the 'lip' sticks out 2mm longer.  Just easier to cut and thats the only difference. You get an extra 2mm to drop a grill in as well, but thats negligible. My second cab is cut that way from memory,

I think the drawing in post1 was amended after your suggestion as those are the dimensions on my copy of the drawing.

Thank you.

One of the joys of having a 3D printer rattle can of Halford's finest matt black in the garage is being able to change things quickly.

I am sure that I saw somewhere that you can get two of these from a half sheet 1220 x 1220, Is this correct?

Yes. I've started a build diary for one, including how to chop up a 1220 x 610 sheet with a circular saw should you not have a proper table saw. On a hiatus awaiting better weather at the moment so I can repair the latest cock-up.

That's correct, I took the opportunity when I changed from your original cab to reshape the whole cab to specifically fit onto a 1220x610 sheet.

As a happy Basschat 110T user (and with a sheet of 12mm ply left over) I’ve been reading this thread with great interest. @Phil Starr I know you mentioned early on that this works well without a tweeter because the Fane has a decent high (for bass) frequency response and has better dispersion than a bigger driver might - but still I’m wondering whether a HF unit/horn (like the Celestion in the 1x10”) would help make it not just an even better bass cab but also something that could be used elsewhere for keys, foldback etc. if needed , a bit like a Crazy 8 maybe. I realise that for all sorts of reasons it’s not just a case of bolting on the tweeter/horn/crossover from the 1x10” design so would need someone who (unlike me) knows what are doing to make it work right.  What do you think , is this worth doing or should I just go any buy a PA speaker ?
