Could this be worse than it looks?

Basschat Universe....

 

I noticed today this hairline crack has appeared on my battered and bruised 30 year old Thunderbird...

 

I'm wondering if the crack is just the paint or a sign one of the wings has shifted.

 

Can I ignore it or does it need a visit to the local luthier?

 

I hope you experts can help...

Non expert opinion but I guess It's hard to evaluate. That could be just a superficial crack on the paint caused by the expansion and contraction of the wood over the years and differences in temperature. I wouldn't bother if everything else is the same.

Another valueless opinion: it looks like it has been there awhile. Even though it has apparently gone all the length of the body right the way through it hasn't fallen apart so I am voting paint distress patina also.

I see the problem - it's that Fender branded grolschlock sitting on a Gibson product.  Matter and antimatter, there's clearly been an adverse reaction of some sort that's arced from strap button to strap button
