Yamaha BB605 (NOW SOLD, PLEASE DELETE)
£425
Aylesbury

NOW SOLD- much thanks, please delete.

(someone is extremely happy🤗😉)
It does not look like your usual 605 model because....

*DiMarzio JJ pickups

*EMG p/bass pickup

*East UK Uni-Pre active electronics.

*Custom made rosewood scratch plate to accommodate the pickups.

This was put together to use on travel gigs where I need a professional/reliable/flexible instrument and sound without taking an expensive instrument (damn you airlines!!).

Slap, fast/fluid/finger style Jazz, p-bass thump and all the in between styles readily available on this beauty!

In great condition (small nick on the headstock) with few but not obvious or large marks. With chrome hardware! (Updated pics).

The switch is a ‘kill’ switch. I use it as a mute to avoid any unwanted ‘accidents’ live.

Gig bag included.

Yamaha Specs:

Nathan East Sculpted Body Design

Solid Alder Body

5-String Maple Neck

Rosewood Fingerboard

24 Frets, 34” scale.

Neck width 45mm at the nut and 75mm at the last fret.

18mm string spacing at bridge.

Collection from Aylesbury preferred or can post to UK.

Feel free to ask away for any more info.

Yep. Not deliberately. My good pal John East pointed that out to me. The Urge bass wasn't it?

Unusual and interesting mod! How are the pickups selected/switched/blended? What is the exact weight please and can you double check the string spacing which I think might be 19mm. Thanks.

With the original bridge which it has it's 18mm spacing, can't remember the weight of mine but it was not a heavy Bass by any means!

Bass Wielder will no doubt explain his selector switch function?

Somehow I agree🧐

Pickups are blended with dual blends. One for between the P and JJ and one for between the JJ set. Thus you can have the in-between tones...

Weight I don’t know (no scale at the moment)...but in comparison to my other basses, quite light and comfortable for long periods (a big part of the reason I chose for the road).
String spacing is 18mm.

This is a great value and reliable bass, but I need to thin the herd
I bought this used from Gig Gear in Harlow a number of years ago as a backup to my LTD2 Attitude. Built in1992, I believe and is great condition for a used. A handful of marks that were there when I bought it but is quite consistent for a bass of this vintage (the control cavity cover still has the plastic on it!)
As I wanted this to be a backup to the LTD2 I replaced the pickups with the same Dimarzio DP146 “Will Power” split P and I installed an Ultra Jazz at the bridge - the most powerful Jazz single coil I could find. Unfortunately I do not have the original pickups anymore. You’ll notice I have added a couple of pieces of pickguard material to the top of the P pickup with double sided sticky tape. This is so I can seat them lower but use the surface as a ramp. Unlike Billy Sheehan’s expos method, this is completely reversible.
Unusually, this bass has a 3 way switch and master volume and tone.  Wide (45mm at nut) flat neck with rosewood fingerboard with a deeper more solid neck joint than other basses. Heavy duty Yamaha hardware (although the hex in one of the saddle screws was stripped when I bought it). Schaller strap locks (I may have the original strap buttons somewhere). Rotosound Billy Sheehan strings installed, but they will likely need replacing soon. Beautiful Crimson Red finish. Appears to have a subtle sparkle and changes from red to pink in different light. I will include a levies strap with the other parts of the strap locks installed. Local pickup would be preferred (Southend-on-Sea area, easily accessed from London). I could meet in London if preferred. I can include a Warwick roackbag gig bag with this option for another £40
I’d rather not ship but I can do if necessary for a fee yet to be determined in a good quality Squier bass guitar box (gig bag inclusion not possible)

I recently aquired a bass through a trade. It is a very lovely bass, but regretably it has to go, I still have too many of them. So here you are: JCR Jazzbass 5, 24 frets, all at your disposal.
JCR (Jaume Catalá Redondo) is a Spanish luthier that is beginning to get his well deserved recognition among the best in the continent. You have already seen in Basschat a number of his gorgeous products, and they are very fantastic. Many of his basses have an obvious source of inspiration in Fodera, but this bass is diferent. We are talking of a jazzbass design with 24 frets. It reminds me a lot of such models as the Mayones Hadrien Feraud bass. I hope the colleague Mustafunk does not mind if I take his previous ad for this very bass, so that you can find all the details and some soundclips/videos (definitely much better than anything I could record myself 😔).
The price of this bass is 1400 euro. In that sense, the 1300 pound tag established in the ad is a maximum in case the pound rate goes down, but right now 1255 pounds will do the deal. The bass is in Bilbao - Spain, in very good condition except for some mini-scratches on the horns that barely appear in the pics. I would ship it in a hardcase, also in excellent condition.
And talking about pics, here they go:

More pics in this link: https://photos.app.goo.gl/ZfScK2z69usT4t6j6
      Specs are as follows:
      TOP: Maple Flamed
      BODY: American Alder
      NECK: Hard Maple
      Tension rod double action
PREAM: Preamp Glockenklang 3 b (active pasive tone)
PICKUPS: Delano MC 5 FE 1700 EB (quad coil) serie - single - paralell swich neck JMVC 5 FE
      TUNERS: Hipshot
      BRIDGE: ETS 18 space strings
      Weight : 3.9kg
      Scale 34
      24 steel frets

      Now sold.

My herd thinning continues with this, a Yamaha RBX374.
This is a really nice bass, in very, very good condition, plays well and has a monster sound. The two MM style pickups give access to a very large palette of tones, very impressive. Usually is with Yamaha instruments though I find.
      The pics speak for themselves.
I'm based near Honiton if anyone wants to come have a noodle, and would prefer the bass be collected. I'm not averse to posting if need be though. Alternatively, I'm  on the road a fair bit with my band, and could bring this along to a gig should we be playing near you. Dates and venues here - http://cloudbusting.co.uk/dates

Hey fellow bassmen!     You probably know how good this instrument is and how much I am going to regret selling it. Truth is that I actually don't even want to sell it! I am forced to due to the current situation, finances getting tighter and tighter by the day.   This is an awesome piece of equipment that is currently out of production, you will pretty much find them only second hand.   I gigged her quite extensively but always treated her with much respect. All that playing has definitely helped to bring her alive hence why she does have that mojo! There are virtually no dings or scratches on her, I've been that careful.   The sound of this bass is really incredible.. not to mention the construction: spline joint Alder body, Rosewood neck, through-body stringing and bolt-on construction. That's the specs you need for the perfect funk machine. I said enough! I Will throw in a hard case within the price too,     Get in touch, don't miss out on this rare beauty!     Matteo
