They are based in kent!!

I am having a custom bass neck made with a 6 x variable colour option from Christopher Woods (US)

You can find his site using google search!

not cheap though!

Cheers

A simple mod will fix the brightness. A resistor in line with the Battery + will sort it out, and you can experiment with values from 10 Ohm to maybe 100 ohms. You'll find a value that suits your eyes. If you are so inclined you can fit a variable resistor as a dimmer.

Thinking much the same I emailed Sims and asked. If I sent them the neck off mine (graphite bolt-on) they'd install side LED's and send it back leaving me to make 2 simple solder connections and route a battery wire (supplied) into the control cavity - can't remember if a switch was included but the batery clip was. £180 they said.

Sims have a price list on their website. Its something like £480 to have side and front dots fitted. This includes routing the cable back to the body and putting in a cavity for the battery, switch, etc. If you just send off your neck and do the rest yourself then you get 40% off the total cost.

I've often though about it myself but Its definitely a case of picking the bass that is a definite 100% keeper to get it done to. I've gone through far too many basses in the last few years to have even considered getting it done.
