It's a passive bass but with exceptional control via the four-position pickup selector knob which goes from P-like to J-like including the typical Dingwall setting inbetween. Body is lightweight Ash and neck is maple with a Wenge fingerboard. Also features locking jack. Very easy to play and has great clarity due to the fanned frets.
