spongebob Posted August 29, 2017 Share Posted August 29, 2017 I've had both. The MIJ was wafer thin, whereas the MIM I had (this was back in 2014) definitely had more of a thickness. In fact, I'd say that the MIM was the better instrument out of the two. Felt nicer, cracking tone. Like an idiot, I sold it on. Bad decision in retrospect! They are now making only 2 types of Geddy Sig model, The USA made one and the Mex made one. As far as I know, originally there was only the MIJ model, then they transferred that production to Mexico. Then they added the USA production model. IIRC there was also a short-lived custom shop model you could get before they brought out before the USA production model, which was reliced to match Geddy's actual '72 Bass.
