Help Identifying a Bass

Hey all,

I need help identifying a bass i recently purchased. It seems to have had all identifying marks removed including, what i can only assume, was an SN at the back of neck where it joins the body. The only thing that might help is the unusual pickguard shape.

Thanks in advance.

Do this:

Take a photo of the bass against a plain white/light coloured background. Save the image to your PC desktop. Open Google and navigate to the images page and drag the photo into the search engine. You might get a match. As things stand (with that image), you're just getting a best match of Squier Precision Bass, which clearly it's not!

It does look to me like a generic P copy with a slightly differently shaped scratchplate & headstock. But as with all unidentified instruments, working out anything at all about it depends predominantly on clear and detailed pictures.

Really can't tell much from this, beyond what I've just said!
