I'm going to regret this one I know it........

For sale: Fender USA Vintage 70's Jazz Hot Rod

Further and final PRICE DROP £1050 for a stunning bass! That's CS quality for less than American (bog) standard money!!!!!

3 tone sunburst , rosewood fret board with period inlays..... Build quality on this USA made bass is exceptional. Sounds just incredible with the Jazz pick up set far back to the high mass bridge and the p pups , can't tell you how good they sound with the tone rolled off.....I'm not sure I'd ever find a better fender and genuinely fear selling it for this reason.... You know, the one you should never have sold and all that....

It has never left the house and has just one tiny mark little bigger than a pin head on the back of the upper curve. (Out of sight) other than this tiny mark, it is as brand new.

Comes with vintage leather case and all the case candy.
Would prefer a collection from Runcorn/ Merseyside but could do courier if pressed.....

stI'll up for grabs...... Just put some better pics up...... Any marks you may see are just camera blurs/ poor photography etc.... The only mark is the little one illustrated in the photo ...

Restrung with brand new di addario balanced tension 45/105......

Had another play on it after rest ringing, the growl from the bridge pick up,with it being in 70's position is just wicked.....

Genuinely may decide to keep this if it doesn't move soon :)

Oops ! Will re-edit description.... Id copied and pasted it off net to save typing out..... It doesnt have binding down the neck , and for record none of these hot rods did so that must be an error on part of the text i lifted.....my fault for not checking it thoroughly, it does have perloid bloc inlay though as per the pic

Because the bridge pick up is in 70's position, the honk it gives it just awsome, proper "parpy tone" .... The precision neck pick ups are full and huge sounding, together it sounds immense, youd have to hear it to really appreciate it. You would be amazed and how much tone scape there is in just dialing out small amount of volume from either pickup....

The neck is as slick as they come, i love the finish, unquestionably a million miles away from any american standard stuff, as is the neck pocket fit.
The baddass style bridge really does give some super sustain too.....

Apart from that TINY mark on the back it is immaculate and completley as new.
Ive seen ,played, alot of fenders........as we all know ,some are hit and miss...this ine is definately a hit.. A solid example of what the fender brand should represent.
You are welcome to come for a completley no pressure no obligation try of it, but bring cash because im quite sure if you do you will not leave with out it :)

Case is the leather vintage one and all the paperwork, hang tags, vintage strap, vinatge lead is in there....

Im already at the point that i know i would not buy a better fender without adding about over a £1000 to what I get from the sale of this bass but rightly or wrongly, thats where im headed.

(Clearly im talking myself out of this arent i ....................)

Ill be happy to do business... Couple of fresh enquiries this weekend which ive responded to but awaiting replies....

When i bought this bass i fell instantly in love with it, it ticked every box.... Well, almost......
Before it came along i had decided on the things i wanted in terms of a "final purchase".... I had decided on buying a jazz made the same year i was born, 1976.i was fairly fixed on that untill this hitrod came along. WoW! It looked epic, so right in terms of what i like, burst/tort/rosewood etc and icing on the cake was the bloc inlays and bridge. Looks is one thing, but wheni picked it up and played it , it had a tone that was just unbeleivable and it played like the best set up bass just how i like it.

So your thinking, why on earth are you selling it ?
Well, i honestly dont know if im doing the right thing, i vey well may likley regret it..... Genuine, not sales bulshiz....

Anyway, in the back of my mind i was torn, i knew deep down I would always hanker for the 1976 jazz and i knew that if i didnt go there and try it for myself i would be forever torn and dement myself.
So, i made the decision there and then that i would not risk marking this hot rod jazz in any way as it would be going up for sale.... As soon as i knew i was not keeping it i became reluctant or almost afraid to use it.... Fear of marking it, fear of liking it and having that change if heart complicating things further ! so i put it in its case and there it has stayed. I get so hung up over purchases :(
I picked up a MM sterling as an inbetweener bass, which as it happens has turned out to be a remarkable instrument and one i dont think ill part with.
Anyway, i hope that explaination provides understanding as to why some one would sell something they regard so highly !

I had a couple of enquiries this weekend, one trade, one cash asking price but tricky delivery abroad.... So not quite there...
In light of the enquiries i got the bass out and had an hour on it at home, gotta say ......man it sweet !!

Someone, please.... Put me out of my misery !
