Ring Mark at BD, he'll give you an honest appraisal and tell you if he thinks they'd be suitable for you or not, even though he's selling them. IMHO they are just like Mayones are in bass guitars category. Modern, hi-fi sound with some unique features, that you might or might not like. The sound is clean and solid, VERY punchy, with bright top end and solid lows, a little bit dry. I prefer more "wet" "soft" and "mid-oriented" sounds (Ampeg!) There's nothing wrong with them, but I'd never use them for my P-bass, especially with flatwound strings, whereas I'd have no troble using Tone Hammer, which I find richer and warmer sounding.
