Hi,
Thought I would try my luck with this as surprisingly my limelight didn't sell (must be because I come from Northern Ireland lol).

Most of you know the history behind these basses. Only 28 ever left the factory.

Bass comes standard with j-retro fitted, has a the fastest and slimmest neck I have ever played. Bass is in good condition with a tiny bit of swrilling on the body were your thumb would rest.

It is quiet heavy I have no scales but estimate it to be between 10 & 11lbs

Buyer has to be prepared to pay postage from Northern Ireland. Not interested in any trades at this stage.

looking £650.00 or SENSIBLE offers!

Thanks

Dave

Well one of the 23 made it to Sligo :D My main bass for most of my electric gigs, seriously great instrument in every way, sweet neck and action and the combination of Fralins and the East pre gives huge tonal range... to be honest the passive setting is so nice I rarely use the pre-amp... I'd nearly buy a second just to have it... ;)

... and how many of them in the north of Ireland?

3 at one time I believe! Mine went to Arbroath where it knocked a Sadowsky Metro off its number 1 spot!

Edit: Just to pass on the story, what I was told was there were to be 24 of these custom ordered DPLE JOs, but when they got to Lakland US from the Cort factory in Korea, one of the basses weighed in excess of 12lbs. Dan Lakin wouldn't release it and, as luck would have it, somebody on the DPLE waiting list (whatever happened to the dude pit?) decided not to go through with the purchase, so everybody was happy in the end.

I actually took the east pre out of mine and dropped a standard jazz plate in, but then I don't do active basses much!

I'll stop derailing now...

My "money shot" bass is a DPLE. Had mine about 4 years now, it's by far the BEST Jazz I've ever had (and I've had a few). Stunning instrument.

Mine's been pimped since I got it. Took out the p/ups and East preamp. EMGs and preamp. Sounds epic.

If there's anything certain in life, it's a "keeper". lol
