slab66 Posted July 6, 2015 Share Posted July 6, 2015 (edited) Finally finished my 1966 Checker Cab tribute slab. I had alot of fun doing this one and it sounds really epic. The T-Bird bridge pickup really brings plenty of 'roid-rage' to an already aggressive tone. Huge sustain at 22k! Wired to Jazz Bass configuration with high mass bridge and bone nut. Neck was a custom made one piece maple with 7.25" finger board profile. Love it. Totally absurd in every way. slab66 Posted July 6, 2015 Author Share Posted July 6, 2015 It was some generic thing I found. I wanted something in Chrome. Sounds fantastic though. Cuts through like a chainsaw. Really digging the tone, very unique. At full tilt it all goes to hell with lots of hollow distortion. Entwistle would have loved it.
