MoonBassAlpha
Did anyone else on here go? I'd be interested to see what others thought. I know this topic was covered when they did the Hootenanny this year, but having watched that back, this time seemed to me to be even looser in playing terms. It wasn't just Wilko either, Norman was way behind the beat for a lot of it and the drummer was rushing many of his fills. I would have expected a three piece that has been playing together for some considerable time to be pin sharp, but they really weren't. Was it just a bad night? lowdown
I haven't seen the Jools Holland New Years Eve show, but I watched the trio on 'The One Show' last week and it was not very good at all (very loose and messy). Wilko was a guest for the chat section, and was good value for that.
Oopsdabassist
Yup I saw them on the one show too, very odd.
Woodinblack
Same here, was disappointed with their playing, but luckily it was mostly covered by the singing :/
Buzzy
I saw them on the one show and thought it was very rough, mainly Wilkos vocals and guitar. Maybe his illness has taken a lot more out of him than we realised. Its great that he beat cancer and is still playing but maybe he needs a bit longer to get back to full strength.
