marcus bell
thanks rich, i love your kingbass mate really got into them all of a sudden dont know why ... might be the MK-II thats done it, im not sure about the leds mate, really thats something id like to find out about, because of corse my other option would be to buy a kingbass mk-II artist with 16.5 string spacing, bendwell which would come to £2095, still a lot of money, but once i had the bass i could still play it and love it, whilst saving up the extra £695 to get the front and side led's fiitted... marcus

Can anyone tell me & save me a call to the Bass-Bishop of Colchester... How easy is it to get front LED's retrofitted into a through-neck Status? Rich.
Very!!! marcus bell
just wondering guys, ive put this on the statii website aswell, but if i order a kingbass mk-II without le.d.s, but with 16.5mm string spacing and the bendwell itll bring my price up to 2095, i was just wondering how much it costs (like a deposit), to get the build underway???, i think maybe you know rich??? thanks to everyone marcus
steve-soar
50 % deposit, the rest on completion. Edited November 11, 2008 by steve-soar
Kiwi
if i ordered one it would be quilted maple, with blud led's bendwell, 16.5mm string spacing, basically the dogs doo-dahs's lol... and if i buy a second hand mk-I, i wouldnt mind what colour the leds and wood were as long as it were, and artist model, through neck, 16.5mm spacing and had front plus side leds .... marcus stilll need options as its a lot of money for me...
get an all black one before Mark King does. In fact you guys could probably run a sweepstake on Statii for the finish of his next 'tour bass'. EDIT: Maybe we could run it on BC ... Rob would be almost sure to do something that had never been seen anywhere else.
funkyhobbit
Hey ho mr Splif,, bit of a Kubicki factor tone going on there, nice Regards,Mark
OutToPlayJazz
As the Steve-ster said, it's 50% up front, then the rest on completion. I'm sure Dawn would take a £1000 deposit, though. Give them a call Rich.
marcus bell
hi rich, thanks mate, ill have a grand saved up by my birthday then i can save the rest up while the build is being completed ... just wondering, can rob take photo while the bass is being produced/made??? thanks again mb
steve-soar
This thread needs to be closed down for the sake of my arse pocket. Candy-Apple Red, 18mm string spacing, Bend Well, black hardware, this is going to be my mantra for the next few months. Thinking of how to tell Wifelet why I need to own this bass. Cause it's a Status, that's why.
OutToPlayJazz
Cause it's a Status, that's why.
Do you need any other reason, Steve?? I know what you mean - I'm looking at a high-end jazz of some sort at the moment & I know I'll be questioning myself when the time comes to hand over another serious amount of money, "Why aren't you spending this money on a Status??!" Rich.
marcus bell
i cant wait, my 18th birthday present is gunna be the best ever, even if i have to work for it aswell lol, rich what dya think of me getting leds fitted by sims, after ive had the bass a while??? thanks marcus
OutToPlayJazz
Sounds fine to me. I'm sure Rob could retrofit them as well, although I've never had a bass with LED's yet. Best of luck with the heavy savings reigeme!
steve-soar
Marcus, listen, your Dad is on board for getting a Mark II, otherwise he wouldn't have been photoed with you and the bass. If you really want the lights, sell your Jazz and Beatle bass and put the dosh towards it, that way it will show the parentals that you are serious. My god, a Jaydee and a Status at 18, what is the world comming to?

OutToPlayJazz
Hey Steve, I have thought about it, but I want a wooden necked bass. I'm after that Tal Wilkenfeld jazz tone. It's going to have to be a Sadowsky, methinks!
marcus bell
cool, good choice there rich, why not just get a standard fender as you already have te sadowsky preamp pedal ???

zigmondo
Blessya Rich(right with you regards the Sad. tone you're after...just that springy woodiness: ya know, the only way I can even approach that tone with the S2 is to lower the pups and roll off the circuitboard trim pot...still not quite there either: I think it must be the maple board...in conjunction with everything else i suppose..) Here's 3 more disgusting yet pouting pics...
