Anyone know for sure if the 4003W S series have the VT control?

Seems the differences between the standard 4003W and the S are 1) Dots not triangle inlays on the 4003W S, 2) binding on the 4003W, none on the 4003 W S and 3) mono only on the 4003 W. I cant seem to find anywhere thats got two to compare against each other tho :-/

The 'S' does indeed have the VT control.

Dots, as you said, and the added difference of a contoured body shape, and of course no binding.

Pickups are the same as a 4003, so the tone is actually the same. It's YMMV - some prefer the looks/feel of the S over a standard 4003, some don't. Remember, the S was the preferred bass of Chris Squire and some guy called Paul Mccartney, although I've never heard of him.

I actually got one a couple of weeks back, in Ruby. Had a Mapleglo first which I had to return for QC issues, but the Ruby is great.

I've had 4003's before, but never an S.....it's a very nice bass indeed - if it was my first one, I'd be stuck what to go for - I'd say the S is certainly more playable with the contours - but I'm equally content with the normal slab.

Goes well with my old 4001......! :)
