The first gig I did with one of these on my very small pedal board, the amount of musos who came up and asked what my big new sound was was amazing. You get a little more "girth" at 12. Whether it makes a huge difference in a live situation or not is for you to decide. My psu is variable so I've never played it live not at 12.
