Neuroscar Posted June 6, 2013 Share Posted June 6, 2013 Right now im using the Rotosound Steve Harris SH77 ones on Loz's (hey man =) ) old P-Bass. While im totally happy with the sound, im having a hard time with the A,D,G strings. I find their tension a bit too much for my fingers. However, im happy with the E one and will be keeping it. So i'm thinking either a new set up with lower action, if the tech finds that's possible, or a new set of lower tension strings. Could you suggest a set of strings that fits that description. Always searching for warm and mellow tone, im not after trebly or brilliant. Any thickness is good (although the thicker the better). Thanks. miles'tone Posted June 28, 2013 Share Posted June 28, 2013 I agree TI's are a nono in this case - VERY light. I personally love the Fender CL's - my string of choice on all my basses. BUT, I like them because they stay reasonably bright and growly for flats so prob not for you. GHS Precision flats will do the job for you I believe in this case.
