2. Right now im using the Rotosound Steve Harris SH77 ones on Loz's (hey man =) ) old P-Bass. While im totally happy with the sound, im having a hard time with the A,D,G strings. I find their tension a bit too much for my fingers. However, im happy with the E one and will be keeping it. So i'm thinking either a new set up with lower action, if the tech finds that's possible, or a new set of lower tension strings. Could you suggest a set of strings that fits that description. Always searching for warm and mellow tone, im not after trebly or brilliant. Any thickness is good (although the thicker the better). Thanks.
3. Is one of these still available btw?
4. You sold your old olympic white to me and you have bought a new one hehe. Although i had lots of second thoughts before buying it (mostly due to my inexperience), i love your bass man. Still use it as a main (although i would like to test a few hundred others) and still my gas thirst is calmly sleeping=)

6. Hey im sorry for the offtopic but maybe you've heard or found somewhere of a way to "upgrade" a sound city head to more watt power? I would like some more headroom for my 120! =)
7. Trade for a B120 MKIV one plus cash at my side? Also, how do you manage to keep it in such a clean condition? Especially its leather.
8. Thanks a ton mr foxen. Unfortunately, i live in Greece.(need to add my location soon). The amp was fixed quick afterall, it was a dead tube in the preamp that also resulted in a burnt resistor.
9. Yeah, we tested it with another cab, different cables, guitar, settings, everything we could imagine. Forgot to mention that.
10. So, im hosting 2 cool people at my place and the guitarist's amp, kinda broke last night. Crap sound like its out of tune and buzzing at the same time. Very low volume as well. The thing is that when you turn the amp off and in those very few seconds before it turns off, the sound is the normal one. Back on, crappy sound again. The tubes seem to be working. We opened it and nothing seemed loose or out of order, but of course we arent specialized. The fuses arent blown either. I need help really fast, because the guys are in the middle of a big tour and we have like a day to fix this. We will not fix this by ourselves of course, we have a tech around here but cant reach him so far due to being Sunday, and we could always narrow down our possible solutions.
11. Could anyone say around how much these (b120) go for nowdays? (i got one and just wanna know, nothing more). And yes, your ss condition is pristine~
12. Straight sale? If so around how much? =)
13.
At the risk of being shot down again, I suggest the OP not get put off by all this technical stuff. If you feel like making a box, make a box. You can only learn from it. if what you learn is that using software to design your next box is a good idea, then it`s still worth it. If you get a good box, result. Point is to do something. MM
Thanks for the replies im learning new and usefull stuff here, although its hard to understand everything. I just want to clarify again, that im not really making the cab myself. The technician will do that, i will just pick the components. And since we talked about the rest, the actual speaker is the thing missing. He told me he always prefered working with celection since he considers it to be the best, but hes kinda old school and thats why im asking for some more info on other stuff that are maybe more fitting for me. And about buying a reputable brand second-hand cab from here, im all up (matamp for example), but an extra 80gbp is surely added to the price for shipping to Greece so..
14. Im thinking about making my own 15" cab since the shipping rates of the really good cabs are way too high for me. Their prices too. My local technician here told me he would make one for me for about 1/3 the price of the "famous" ones, whatever that means. So im considering my options. Another 2x15 (im already using a 2x15 fender bassman in the studio we are playing, which unfortunately isnt what it used to be-needs service) would be ideal, but I will be going for a 1x15 with an adjustable extra 6" for some extra mids or highs or so. Need something i can actually carry around if needed and i dont have a truck. So, i read some reviews, and im between eminence legend 15" and celestion BL15 (300 or 400), green series, for a more warm/vintage/low-endish tone. What would you suggest? We're playing mostly heavy rock stuff so lots of low end is needed. Any other speakers advice? Neodymium or the older heavy stuff?
