Best power amp for studio monitoring?

What's my best bet? It's a very small room, so relatively low power is required (everything I look at online seems to be up in the several hundred watts range, but given that my 20w hifi amp pretty much fills the room sound-wise, I doubt I need much more than 50 at most)?
Thanks
Chris

Fair point, kinda at the opposite end of the financial spectrum to your rather lovely setup I guess mate, £200-300 max?

You might find a used Macintosh on fleabay. A hidden gem IMO. I suspect that even a used Bryston or similar will be out of your league Im afraid.

the word is that active monitors are the way to go ;) , for your budget there should be some quality to be had , there is a very recent thread on this. I am on the monitor hunt , or will be soon
