This amp is the ideal canvas for you to create your perfect guitar tone on. This little beauty with your favourite guitar & pedal selection plugged into it will rock your world!
The Cornford Carrera is low enough in power to get those searing solo sounds in either the home or studio, but it has the balls to work as a great small gigging amp. Such a versatile amp - you just switch the tubes around & all of a sudden it's like owning a new amp!
Unlike most modern tube amps, the Cornford Carrera features a Class A tube power section & is hand wired point to point, rather than using PCB's (printed circuit boards). This ensures that you get the absolute purest tube tone out of your tube amplifier.

Carrera - Story

Cornford's Harlequin became an instant hit with studios, and with guitarists with home set-ups who were fed up with synthetic sounds and who wanted real tone on their recordings. Six and a half years down the line comes the Carrera.

"It was as a direct result of pressure from our players," says Paul C. "They kept telling us they wanted a Harly, but with a few more features, like reverb and an effects loop, so we've bowed to their requests and come up with the Carrera. But we've added a couple of our own ideas to make it even more interesting."

The Carrera is a hand-built, point-to-point wired amp - "no PCBs of any sort" insists Paul - as well as the aforementioned reverb and effects loops, both entirely valve driven, Cornford has come up with an ingenious way to create different power ratings and tones from one amp.

Recorded the old Harley a lot, sounds incredible with a good Ribbon (I would recommend a Cascade Fathead II with the Lundahl tranny for starters, but a Royer or Coles would be even better in all likelihood) and an sm58 on it blended together, anything from juuuust breaking up to thick lead sounds. If you have a great room then backing off a nice LDC as a room mic is a wonderful thing too.

Great little amp, I cannot recommend this enough for anyone interested in 'properly recording' simply perfect guitar tones....
