Truckstop Posted August 1, 2012 Share Posted August 1, 2012 Hello all, I'm having a complete nightmare with my Yamaha NE-1 Parametric EQ. Basically, the input and the output sockets are in the most minbendingly frustrating places. I need it rehoused into a Boss style arrangement or any other sensible arrangement in order to make it fit into my pedalboard with a little more grace! I'd even be happy with modifications to the original housing just to make it a little better for me.Even if the sockets were on top of the bloody thing! Can anyone out there help? tombomb Posted August 1, 2012 Share Posted August 1, 2012 Do you know anyone with a pedestal drill. I've not seem the inside of these pedals so I don't know how full they are, but it should be a fairly do-able job. The input/output jacks can be de-housed using an adjustable spanner. You may be lucky enough that the wires inside are long enough to not need resoldering. Once you've drilled the new holes (prob 10mm) just remount the jacks. You should be able to find a couple of rubber grommits to fill the old hole from your local DIY shop for less than a quid. Upon reading again, that was in essence a long winded way of saying: 1 - Unscrew Jacks 2 - Drill new holes (take care not to drill any thing else!) 3 - remount jacks 4 - get grommits to fill holes. If you're unsure, take the back off the pedal and post a photo. If you don't know anyone with a drill then I could potentially help out in a couple of weeks when back from my hols! [/quote] Indeed. A centre punch and a hand drill is all you need. And a file to deburr afterwards... if you care about that sort of thing!
