Hello Fellow Bass chatters.

This bass is in excellent condition and plays really well. Only one small ding at rear of bass and a tiny chip to finish on headstock (see pictures).

34'' scale, two piece ash body, Maple neck, Rosewood fingerboard, gold hardware, 3 EQ Yamaha preamp with a 3 way mid selector, Yamaha soap bars. Overall pre-amp provides good EQ control.

Price is £450 including yamaha case, which for a quality mid 90s TRB5 in this condition seems pretty good

That is curious. Have you had it from new? The fretless version has no dot markers on the fingerboard:

Maybe it's a fretless that has been fretted at some point...

I bought it off some guy about 12 years ago and i hardly used it due to using other basses. You may have a point, but i had never considered it. The feel and intonation seems fine. If it was fretted it was a good job. I will have to have a good look at the fretboard. It does have dot markers on the side though

for sure it wouldnt bother me at all, these are killer basses in every way... you wont find a better bass anywhere for this price... way up there with the boutiques...

Just to reassurre anybody who is looking at this bass it is in full working order and plays extremely well. I have owned several high end basses and this bass isn't a million miles away.

I'm cutting back on basses. I think i know what you mean about two instruments being different, but maybe that was down to the setup or pickups etc. It seems a long way for you to come but if you did take it i could reimburse you half petrol. If you do try it, you may want to use your own amp, although i do have quite a few + Genz Benz shuttle 3.

cool tbh i cant belive this has not sold.....all yamahas are great basses. Im thinking of holding onto this 1024 after futher noodling in front of today at wimbeldon. ill see what happens over the next few days may just have that off you....but as you say to far so will need posting. If its still here in a few days, just thinking about it for now. I have an old 5 string yamaha with a ne preamp, that is great, which i gig with, was gonna sell the 1024 for another 5 yamaha but im starting to really like the 1024.

Shouldn't the serial tell if it has been fretless. What's the serial?
