ped Posted April 20, 2008 Share Posted April 20, 2008 I was chatting with Dr_of_the_bass at the recent bash and amazed by how shiny and clean the fretboard and frets were on his graphite basses. In comparison mine was a little duller and not as dark. As instructed I used some Brasso on the frets (masked the fretboard with tape) and they came up sparkling and clean. Next, some Mr.Muscle window and glass cleaner on the fretboard. Just a little applied to a clean cloth and gently worked in. Bingo! I have tried various products and have to say this beats them all! budget bassist Posted April 20, 2008 Share Posted April 20, 2008 for the frets on my bass i generally just mask the board off with tape and use wire wool, works pretty well for me. Lfalex v1.1 Posted April 21, 2008 Share Posted April 21, 2008 I used GT85 (WD40, but better!) and a good deal of elbow grease and a soft cloth on both frets and phenolic board. The Vigier came up well, but dull (which is how I wanted it) The Yamaha seems to have some sort of lacquer on it, and it came up sparkling...
