This is now sold - thanks for all the interest.

I've been having a change around recently, and have finally settled on the Orange rig I recently bought from here. Consequently, my recently acquired Phil Jones rig is now up for sale (or trade). It comprises of a Suitcase and matching 4B cab. The combo has a soft cover.

This is the cleanest sounding, most transparent amp I've ever played through - you really can hear the difference in sound between basses through this. It's incredibly well made, very high end (I believe Bob Babbitt, Pino and Nathan East are all Phil Jones users), and pretty pricey, too. It's also stupidly loud - the combo alone comfortably kept up with a heavy handed drummer and loud guitarist at a recent rehearsal. When I hooked up the cab too, I was blown away with the sound - not just the volume, but also the clarity.

Specs as follows (Suitcase combo first): -

2 channel 300 W amp (180W into internal speakers)
4 x high power 5” drivers in computer designed 8Ω enclosure

Each input features;

Active/Passive input
5 band eq (50Hz/160Hz/630Hz, 2.5kHz/12kHz)
Optical compressor/limiter (switchable/adjustable)
Headphone out
Balanced line out XLR DIi)
Effects return
Dimensions; 16.5 H x 13.5 W x 17.5 D
Weight - 49lb/19kgs

Specs for the 4B cab: -

300W power handling

4 x high power 5” drivers
Frequency response 50Hhz - 10kHz
Weight - 12kgs
Size - 16.5 H x 13.5 W x 17.5 D

The dual channel amp is very useful - you can have a completely separate eq / input / volume for (for example) an acoustic bass, and an electric. Or a passive and an active, and just leave them plugged in and ready to go.

The form factor is also great, as the rig will comfortably fit on the back seats or a car, or in the boot. A few pics I just took are below. The '73 P bass is not included in the sale B)

BassDirect has the same rig on special offer for £1200 (see here: http://www.bassdirec...B_Suitcase.html).

I'm looking for £650 collected from j.12 M40 (between Leamington & Banbury) or from my office in Solihull, or £700 posted (it'll take some packing and 2 courier parcels to ship). From a trade point of view, I'm not really looking for anything specific, but the following could tempt me: -

Gibson Thunderbird
Ric 4001/4003
Fender Telecaster bass (later mudbucker version)
Nice P bass
Nice semi-acoustic bass

But try me with other stuff too. I'm more into traditional type basses, so nothing pointy! And 4 string only, thanks.

Any questions, just ask.

Cheers

Mark.
