I was too young to see them too. The greatest pop group that never was. Unfortunatly Andy and Colins later stuff wasnt up to much IMO. They ran out of steam (soul coal ). They've parted ways now so its all over. I'm a fan of Jack Johnsons music, and his bass player Merlo Podlewski has had an impact on my playing. Maybe a little too much sometimes, it seems all my fingers can play are chilled out melodies!! musophilr Posted March 10, 2012 Share Posted March 10, 2012 Doug Ferguson was considered by some to be the weak link in Camel. He clearly didn't want to keep playing with them, and I believe he ended up as a double glazing salesman (not a choice I'd make but each to his own). However listening to their 1st 4 EllPees I was never aware that Camel had a weakest link and I enjoyed what Mr Ferguson did on the bass as much as I enjoyed the playing of Messrs Latimer, Ward, and Bardens. Black Sea is one of my Desert Island albums.....I love the older pre Dave Gregory clip of them on TOGWT playing Statue Of Liberty as they have a real rabbit in the headlights energy about them.
