Good practice amp?

Hey there people, this is my first proper post here!

Ok, here's my dilemma. My gigging amp is usually in storage somewhere far away from me, and when I practice at home, I usually either play unplugged (ehh) or through a Marshall pocket amp (bleh). When playing along with a CD or Backing Track, it's almost always a horrible experience. Now, my birthday is just a couple of weeks away, and I'm thinking about asking for a nice practice amp. I don't want anything too fancy, just a nice modestly priced little 10/15 watt'er would do me fine. But there are so many options out there... my only requirement is that it amplifies my signal and it sounds decent, but I'd be open to other suggestions.

My only real thought at the moment is the Laney RB-1, which seems cheap and decent enough, though I haven't tried one out yet. What would you guys recommend? Thanks!

-Dave

Peavey Max 126... 10 Watts into 6.5" speaker... has headphone out and CD/MP3 input...

That's what I currently have... does the practice job in the flat fine.

although I'm currently looking now in the 30 Watt range to fill the capacity gap between my Peavey, too small for Church and my Laney RB6, too darn big and heavy too boot...

I'd also look at the baby Marshall...

bit more expensive than the baby Peavey... £70 in shop vs £50 but you are looking at 15 watts there in an 8" speaker and a built in compressor...

Might be selling mine soon, see my request for help further up. Its a wonderful practice amp, ideal for practice at wife friendly volumes. I'm rehearsing with my band in central london and it doesnt cut it with two load guitarists and a drummer so I need something thats small, portable and loud enough to be heard amongst the egomaniacs that I'm playing with !
