pre amp issues on my Warwick Streamer II

Hi all

As the title says, I have an old (almost 18yo) Warwick Streamer II and have some preamp issues. I would like a tech to have a look at it. The main problem is that when the preamp is engaged it produces a bad noise, a fellow bass player thin might be just a small contact issue.

I am also thinking of upgrading pups, any suggestions in this area would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for all, please PM with specific contact details for a tech if possible

PS I am based in West London, so local would be best if at all possible

Cheers

Carlos

Hello mate,

Speaking from experience, the best place to look after it would be the Gallery in Camden:

Martin in the workshop is the electronics guy and is a total pro. None of the sucking air through teeth malarky we've all had in the past! A lot of people depend on them to look after their instruments and they always do a fantastic job, and talk sense.

Hope that helps,

Cheers

Is your preamp overdriving? there should be a couple of white plastic screws on the small circuit boards inside the control cavity it might help if you turn these down,if not then its highly likely a capacitor is crapping out on you,see if any oil is leaking out from any of them, hope this helps.

I don't think is overdriving. Second option about capacitor might be the cause but have no idea of electronics and wouldnt like messing with it, would prefer a professional to have a look and sort it out...
