Take a look at parcelmonkey.com.
I have used them quite a lot good prices and service.
They use the big carriers but at a better price than going direct.

Never tried them but just found this:

£26.39 to deliver my beast of a Trace 2x15" cab (80x80x40, 46kg) - don't really come much bigger unless its a 6 or 8x10"

I've used pharosparcel a couple of times - delivery and collection via UPS. Excellent service

It's a classic case of swings and roundabouts...

If you buy and old, used, cheap cab and get it couriered then yes - the shipping might be as much as the cab itself! But as the value of the item increases, so the relative cost of the shipping gets less!

I shipped an extremely heavy Ampeg head (as heavy as many cabs!) to Eire and it came to less than forty quid, even including enhanced insurance.

At the end of the day, if you want something but can't collect it yourself, then you have to pay someone else. Think of it this way - its still cheaper than driving there and back!

Apologies for the thread resurrection, but this seems a good place to ask.

I've found an old combo cabinet I'm interested in buying (somewhat as an experiment) but it's located about 5 hours away from me so I'm looking to get it collected and delivered to myself by a courier.

It's a 1x15 size and is on castors, so was thinking off asking the seller to wrap in bubble wrap and leave the castors exposed.
Anybody got any suggestions on whom to use?
I've previously had car alloy wheels colected and delivered by Shiply but unsure if theres somebody else Basschatters would recommend?
