Having never been a fan of tthe blockheads, I feel I have missed some great bass playing.

This obviously comes for Norman Watt Roy. This man is freakin amazing. Im sitting watching one of their gigs on sky arts and just wanted to hear more of his stuff.

Youtube threw this to me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCIWmldNbyA

I have supported the Blockheads a few times. He is a fantastic bass player and one of the nicest blokes I have ever met. An absolute gent who enjoys a beer and a little bit of "woodshedin". All the Blockheads are game for a laugh.

This is what we got them to do last tome we supported them.
Just watched that gig on Sky Arts (Hammersmith Odeon -1985 ) myself - really enjoyed it. Haden't realised Norman Watt Roy played a Smith bass, in those days.
Think you might find it was an Alembic he was playing?
Brilliant gig tho, would love to track down a DVD of that concert 'cos it didn't seem that long on tv....

Ahh, may well have been an Alembic - though I'd seen the bis 'S' symbol of a Smith headstock, though as you say may well have been the Alembic one
