1. Thanks for all the support guys! I found the Serial number!! Pics up. Please help if you can.
2. Hi BCers, I need your vigilant eyes. My Fender Deluxe Precision 5 has been stolen. I was unloading some stuff for my wedding out of my car last Wednesday and it had my gear in it. I think someone must have walked by and whipped my bass out of the car whilst I wasn't looking. Please can any of you living in the Streatham/Mitcham area please keep an eye out. Its a 2003 Sunburst Fender Precision Deluxe 5 string SERIAL NO: DZ3 193723. It was in a soft black Fender gig bag, with a black comfort strap in the front pocket. EDIT: Found the original pics Ady sent me. SERIAL NO: DZ3 193723 There are noticeable nicks on the top horn and hip of it, more so than in these pics now. It was in a black Fender soft case when taken. The front pocket had a black comfort strap, grey Behringher mic, XLR cable and a white 4 plug extension cord inside.
3. Continueing the house clean. White Ibanez SR300. Bought for a video (and tour that never happened). Got some minor damage on the body above the neck pickup (see pic) Great bass for slapping and crispy distortion, super light body, nice active circuitry (although I never got on with the pickups). Comes with a unpadded gigbag. £50 ono (that price isn't cos i'm cheap and don't want to pay a subscription, just not a valuable bass. I rather it went to someone who needs it and will play it.) Not keen to post it, it'll cost more than the bass is worth. For collection, I live in the Streatham area, London SW16. I'm away on holiday for the next 2 weeks, but will do my best to respond. M x
4. Right, deep breath, time to clean house. Hello BCers, Been a while since I've been here, cos I buy stuff, and I get told off by the missus. Well, now its time for some items to go due to lack of use or need. First up...... My first bass (although heavily altered) It started life as a Squire MB4, which I then took apart, stripped and rebuilt into a fretless for a recording project at school (waaaaaay back in the day). Nice smooth solid neck, electronics work fine, no major dents or scuffs. Got a bit of a homemade feel about it. It has no straplocks and a high action due to the bridge saddles being too big, but ideal for someone who needs a fretless quick and cheap. Comes with a unpadded gigbag. £50 ono (that price isn't cos i'm cheap and don't want to pay a subscription, just not a valuable bass. I rather it went to someone who needs it and will play it.) 6. Easy bass sale. Enjoy it mate.
7. Ok......here goes.... With much trepidation I'm putting my beloved Hot Rod up for sale. I'm no longer playing professionally, so cannot justify having 7 basses now {expect to see more for sale soon }. This is without a doubt my most prized bass, she only going because she is just collecting dust and should be with someone who has the time to play and love her. The 2005 Flame Maple Limited Edition Hot Rod No. 155 of 250. Some vandal scribbled on the back of it too! Comes with a flight case and all the candy. I'm throwing in a locking strap too. The previous owner fitted Seymour Duncan Basslines to her because he didn't like the MECs. It gives a warmer, jazzy sound. I've still got the originals, but will have to mail them to you at a later date cos they're in a garage in Kent. This bass has been gigged.......extensively. I'm not one to buy a bass just to polish. I have done my best to keep her in the best nick possible, but there a few things. - Tiny knick on the back of the neck - A few dings on the back of the body - The volume pot switch is a little loose. - She could do with a new set of strings (included in the user kit) and a setup. I've tried to show them best I can in the pictures. None of these affect the electrics or playabilty. My summary of this bass: - Great Warwick growl and all the low end power you'd expect from one. - More a jazz or metal beast, not really one for slap merchants - Hella light 4kg (the case is heavier than the bass!!) - Chunky neck takes a bit of getting used to, but super comfortable for long sessions. - But that neck hold tuning like you wouldn't believe and the harmonics.......oh the harmonics! - Smooth as silk pudding when played gently and a snarling beast when spanked. - God I'm gunna miss this bass!! Here's Warwicks specs: http://www.warwick.d...--Features.html I'm based in Earlsfield SW London. Can come drop 30 mins in any direction, would rather not post. Looking for £800 ono. NO TRADES sorry. This just for you BCers atm, but it will go on sale elsewhere in a week. That about sums it up. Any q's PM me. WARNING!!! ---- Whoever should buy this, be prepared to see a grown man weep. Love y'all Thack
8.
Has anyone who PM'd the OP had a reply from this yet?
Nooope
9.
Do the youth of today wear them or is it uncool? Docs pro plugs all the way I say
My experience of working with the 16-25 kinda age range is that a lot more of the younger kids are wearing them, so someone is doing something right. In general its about a 50/50 split among my peers. I suffered hearing loss when i was small, so i almost always wear them. Especially in practice wear the noise gets "boxed in". Has anyone ever tried going high tech and using noise cancelling headphones? if so do they work well?
10. Always. I used the edge of my pocket as a thumb rest. Its got to the point where im wearing holes im the side of all my trousers
11.
Good luck to the guy that has taken it - if he is sitting around doing nothing, then why not ? Or just do it to something more lucrative comes along. You are not being asked to commit for life.
Thanks man, I was just doing nothing. Plus £300 quid a week for 3 hours work a day ain't to be sniffed at, more than I made doing 3 times that at my bar. Plus I get free accommodation, no bills, and get paid extra to setup and sell tickets. Worth while bit of fun and excitement if you ask me and the people here are awesome.
12. Yeh. Started on Monday. Everyone is really cool. The band leader barley speaks a word of english, which is interesting. Great fun though.
13. Just bought Derren's PJB Cub. Awesome guy to trade with.
