  1. Saw Glenn at Bilston last Tuesday What an awesome show, just rocked from start to finish. He still is one of the best Rock Vocalists and Rock Bassists in the Business. A massive influence on me when i started playing Bass in 1976,with 2 of my favourite Bass lps of all time Made In Europe and Come Taste The Band being my bibles. Still mega cool! ...off for another fix at Leamington Spa on Thursday.
  2. Welli can only speak as i find. A +1 for TNT. Even though i was happy for a 2 day delivery, the Bass turned up next day just after 1pm. Though the bass was in hardcase, but not brilliantly secured,it turned up without a scratch. Simple smooth transaction as well. I was quite impressed.
  3. Geddy Lee Chris Squire Tony Levin JJ Burnell Phil Lynott
  4. Vocals Lou Gramm Lead Guitar Richie Blackmore Guitar Scott Gorham Bass Geddy Lee Drums Phil Collins Keyboards Rick Wakeman
  5. The 3 who probably influenced my playing style most: JJ Burnell Glenn Hughes Phil Lynott 3 favourite players. Geddy Lee Chris Squire Tony Levin Altough it was Jimmy Lea who made me want to be a Bass Player.
  6. I think it was Black Magic Woman or one of the guitarists songs at the BIP Social Club near Birmingham (now a housing estate) on Xmas Eve 1978. I was playing a Sunburst Avon Jazz copy through a Wem 50 combo. I had just turned 18.
  7. In the days when i used to play in a Prog Rock band we never even saw any females in the audience, let alone pull any.
  8. Quite a few i would have chosen have been mentioned already so i wont repeat myself, but a definate +2 for Jimmy Lea,for it is he who got me into following the 4 string faith. Glenn Hughes....maybe better known as the" voice" but his bass playing was a huge influence on me when i started out. Graeme Murray of Pallas....I like the cut of your jib sir! Martin Gordon...his Rickenbacker playing on Sparks Kimono My House etc started my love affair with Ricks and over 35 years later i still havent been able to afford one. Gary Strater of Starcastle (RIP).
  9. Love that double neck, nice gear list as well....you seem to typify what it should all be about..FUN! TOP MAN!
  10. Exactly its what YOU are happy with. Its not to often a bass catches my eye but a couple of weeks ago this Ibanez SR500 was just calling to me in a Pawn shop window,it looked fab with its slender neck and very low action..my fingers were twitching but the shop was closed..for the rest of the week i could not stop thinking about it.....it was priced up at £295 and looked mint apart from missing the bass boost knob (easily replaced).Well it was the usual should i shouldnt i scenario, before with the kind blessing of the wife she said go for it...went back it was still there, had a quick play and knew there was no way i was going to leave the shop with out it and they chucked a lovely case in marked up at £80 for free...Result! I am very very pleased with it,that neck is so fast its ideal for me as i only have small hands and short fingers, and a big difference from playing my beloved Fender P. I would give the Epiphone EB3 serious consideration, especially after an EB3 was the weapon of choice for many years of the bass player who got me into bass,Jimmy Lea of Slade.
