Cab now sold. Will take £250 for the Combo Will now take £400 for both. Up for sale is my trusted ABM C110 Ashdown combo with ABM mini 48 (All UK made). It sounds great and isn't too big and bulky. The speaker in the combo has been upgraded to an Eminence Gamma 10 300w which, in my opinion is better than the blue line speaker that this came with. Both the combo and the cab are 8 ohms. I would be looking to sell both together for £450, or sell the C110 for £300 and the mini 48 for £150. I would prefer collection but would also be prepared to meet someone halfway as long as petrol costs were covered. Also looking for a 5 string Feel free to PM me if you have any questions Cheers Keith C110 Info

Replacement speaker for an Ashdown ABM 500
butlerk02 replied to hookys6stringbass's topic in Amps and Cabs
I've just replaced my Evo II C110 300 with a Eminence Gamma speaker. Its certainly alot louder than the Blue Line Sica speaker that its replaced and it does sounds better to me.
I've got an Ashdown ABM EVO III combo which I thinks sounds superb, however I was chatting to a fellow bassist in the studio about the speakers Ashdown use and was told that if I liked the sound i'm getting now i'll love the sound of my amp with a Celestion tru vox (think that is what he said) in it. Like I said I think the amp sounds great at the mo, but the chat I had has got me wondering..... can anyone suggest a replacement speaker for my amp???
-
Thanks Steve, Don't get me wrong, i really love the set up I have. Its just that i'm looking for something smaller, like an Mark Bass combo that I can use for Pub gigs, but then DI to the PA when I need to for larger gigs. So you reckon £550? Interesting...........

Hi Chaps, I thinking of selling my Ashdown rig with the option of getting something a little smaller/portable, as i more often than not go through our pa. Just wanted to know what your thoughts were on how much I can expect to get for an ABM C115-300 EVO II Combo and an ABM MINI 48 Cabinet. Both are U.K made and the rig has been used frequently, but its in fairly good nic. Cheers Keith

I've just got off the phone with Dawsons music and they have agreed to replace it with a new one as Fender have a few left over in stock. The guy said Fender have stopped using these cases now. I wonder why? Think I'll sell it and get another Hiscox.
They are seriously crap (if the one with my precision is anything to go by). Do yourself a favour and spend £50 on a decent Gator case.....
I know they are crap. I bought a Hiscox for my Lakland and the difference between the two is unreal. You can jump up and down on a Hiscox and not worry about it. I think i'm just going to buy another one TBH and burn the Fender one.
Claim on your insurance and then sell it to me......! Seriously tho' if you fancy having a go at straightening out, lay it on the floor open with the open side down (both outersides up) place a peice of wood under the bent part ( to raise it off the floor) and then apply body pressure (staright arms leaning down on it either side of the bend) to straighten the metal support..... Should work...
Cheers Burpster, will give it a go.

Chaps, My cheap Fender hardcase has been damaged in transit. All of the buckles still fasten but there is a two inch gap at the back of it. Any suggestions on how to get this straightened out before I attack it with a hammer? Cheers Keith

Played a gig at a pub called the white horse last night in a place called Irlam. Its one of the roughest pubs i've ever been to and it could easily be a set from shameless. Its one of those places were you walk in and think "sh*t, i want to go home". We went down really well though and ended up playing a 3 hour set. My ears aren't half ringing today though.
36 yr old with 10 years+ playing experience looking to join a covers / tribute band or even just get together for a regular jam. Classic rock, soul, funk, blues preferred but anything considered. I'm a quick learner with pro gear and own transport. Based in Oldham but willing to travel around NW. PM if interested or email oldhambassATgmailDOTcom
Hi, Why don't you get in touch with Rayman( a few posts down from yours). -
I first came to appreciate the bass guitar when i was in my early 20's, and i joined a three piece instrumental band as a singer/guitarist. Our bass player at the time wrote all of the melodies and we basically structured the rest of the songs around him. I really admired his ability and couldn't wait for band practice, just so that i could have a go of his musicman. Needless to say, i learnt all of his bass lines and i can still play them today 12 years on. Well anyway, the band didn't get anywhere, and i left to go to uni and that was that. Fast forward to 2005. I'd just bought a house and the gas fire in the living room needed looking at, so i called a local gas engineer and he came to my house to take a look at my dodgy gas fire. Got chatting to him and he noticed that i had an accoustic guitar in the corner of my living room. He asked if i could play the bass as his band were looking for a bass player. I said i was more of a guitarist but i could probably play a bit. Well, that was that. Learnt a couple of songs from their set list and went and had a jam with them. That was two years ago and i'm still playing with them now. If the band split, i'd probably pack it in, as the reasons i play are to be with my mates and to try and make people have a good time on the dance floor. Thats my story so far.

With a Jeannie's black cherry tort (which you can have for £25) - never used cos the black is too sexy.. Thanks for the offer homer, but i've just ordered the black pickguard from jeannie's myself. Infact, it was that picture that gave me the gas to buy mine.
