Super clean at that speed.
Also that Mustang has a lot of mojo about it. Digging that.

Thanks chaps - will keep my eyes peeled in case something comes up!

So I've got a Tanglwood Bassmaster Funk (Spector copy) and it's my got to jamming bass and I love the look and feel of it - my question is do the Euros come in a Satin/Matt finish or are they all high gloss? From reading I feel a used Euro would be the place to go rather than the Legend.

Also, Happy 100 pages of fantastic BB knowledge and obsessing.
Here's to the next 100 😁

@BassApprentice Ooh, always wanted to try those strings. Do you have any clips or videos?
Unfortunately not, I'll see if I can bodge something together and upload it when I can.
I was lucky enough to get a lightly used set on here for a bargain price otherwise I probably wouldn't have spent ~£50 on them. They feel super smooth and zero finger noise but still give a good brightness that you don't get from most flats. If you are a fan of heavier strings then you will probably get on with these.
Edit: the reason I was looking for these was because I asked Bubby Lewis on Instagram which strings he uses and he recommended the White Nylons for the brightness.

Ha good eye! It is indeed

Regarding strings - I've got a set of LaBella White Nylon Copper Tapes (catchy, right?) and I'm enjoying the change. OK they are pretty heavy due to the nylon coating, but they feel great, not super floppy and sound reasonably bright, can even do a bit of slapping and popping if it takes your fancy.
They look pretty fancy too

For the first time in weeks, I didn't find this thread on the first page!
I blame @AndyTravis and his lack of Yamaha GAS

That was a really interesting read @Mastodon2
After reading all that I don't think I fully appreciated my quick noodle on a Smith at Bass Direct last year, when I'm down that way again I'll be sure to have a better look and see if I can 'get' it.

So that's 2 Vinteras sold which were originally going to be Squier sales - Could this be sharp marketing from Fender 😅😂

So the good weather had passed, but its payday (or close to it) so make me an offer!

Both of those look great! When I eventually order a custom design it's probably going to be from Alpher but i don't think I'm anywhere near ready to narrow down a custom spec.

Is that for the all the new models or just the Mustang? Either way, it might actually give me time to save for that Walnut Precision!

Our suppliers have informed us that we will be receiving our order on or around 1/3/2020.
Ah just in time for Christmas......2020
Thats a serious delay for a newly announced model.

Not sure why the one in blue/purple is £400 more than the aqua sparkle?!
I asked the bass guy in GuitarGuitar that very question and he didn't understand it.
Both basses are exactly the same spec apart from the paint. Also, he said it took 6 months from order to get those so these will probably be the last available in this style at your local shop.

I don't think I'm too far off on the price but shoot me an offer (within reason) 😄

This just popped up on Facebook.

What a stunner! I've only briefly played a Smith but it was sublime. Enjoy!

I don't mind it too much, shame the photo is so heavily shadowed so you can't quite appreciate the changes but I'm sure there will be more photos very soon.

I haven't played a Thunderbird in a while but I tried a D-Bird last weekend - while the shape is very similar the shaping and contouring must be vastly different. I guess the Gibson patent is on the silhouette of the shape and not the execution.
For anyone interested GuitarGuitar Glasgow have an aquamarine triple pickup model in stock for £1400 - £400 less than the blurple finish. Great bass and now going to be very rare....

Still available!

Does anyone make good ones for any bass?
I like them a lot but I haven’t got one for my Sandberg.
I don't know if you could do a "one size fits all" ramp since basses vary so much, my first thought would be DIY or go to your local luthier and see what he can do.

I played a 5 string one today in GuitarGuitar Glasgow, pretty underwhelmed. Found the sharp edge of the string holders down at the 1st fret on the G string a bit of a shock, and the lightness of it made me feel like it was lacking substance somehow. I appreciate the thought of the asymmetric neck, but I've played other basses that have done it better for me. Unless money was no object I couldn't see myself spending 3k on one.
I then picked up a Dingwall D bird on a fancy Aquamarine sparkle finish (at £1400, seemed very reasonable) and it blew the Boden away, tone wise, feeling wise and construction wise. The fan fret system is more natural for me and the tone works better for me. Someone buy it before my G&L sells 😅
