2.
I live in Holland, like UK most small quality shops are closing down with companies like Bax and Key Music taking over. Bax is not like Thomann. Thomann is a family owned business that became huge through performance, Bax is small in comparison and has a lot to prove over a long period of time before a comparison can me drawn. I order at Bax now and again, from a EURO perspective they are not cheaper than Thomann; I expect the cost benefit will be short lived if the GBP to EURO changes. Forex is currently a big part of the low price points and they want to try and carve out a niche for themselves in Europe which they can only do in so many ways. Personally I think they are ok, no more no less and prefer Thomann. More choice, better CS, longer reputation, more in stock etc etc.
Ooh thanks for the extra insight. Going to google Key in a minute also. For me - to add to comments from others - I have been looking at a load of rack bits and bobs and that is where I have witnessed the big savings, I've ordered a couple of hundreds of pounds of stuff and saved probably fifty by going to Bax. The equivalent was cheaper than Thomanns too. I looked at a bit of bass stuff and witnessed their prices were on the whole cheaper also, hence my opening statement. Anyway, worth checking out when shopping around to see if they can do you a good deal. EDIT : Found Key. Nice site but not so hot on the pricing.
 3. Too much excitement!
 4. Haven't been to see any "name" band for ages. Is suppose the last was Rudimental. Now they know how to get the bass pumping. Was at Blackpool Winter Gardens with the sprung dance floor. Much fun...
 5. I'm just gonna sit here drop feeding stuff in... New EBS Billy Sheehan pedal....?
 6. Sparkle Drive Mod...
 7.
Naturally we have our own six d and b monitors (who doesn't?!) but we have to hire in the extra six and I don't know anyone that has them just lying around at £30k a set!?
Well, it just so happens there is a guy you may be able to call on...
 8.
That was half of the attraction. We usually have to carry around our own TV to show the football in the background but it's a bitch to carry. I think we'll start checking with the landlords in advance, nothing less than a wall mounted 42" LED from now on
42"? Gosh, your standards are low. And you should be stipulating OLED as a minimum. C'mon man, don't sell yourself short.
 9.
Easily re-shaped
Call me Sid. (From Toy Story)
 10.
It's not great, but then neither are the headstocks on Sadowsky's, Fodera's, D Lakin, G&L's and others ( all of which cost more as well).
Agreed. And thats why I have a problem with those brands too. PS - Add Alleva to the pile also.
 11. I decided to give Bax Shop a whirl after being drawn by their very competitive prices. I'm currently building up a fairly comprehensive rack and must say, that the saving through Bax have been significant - much like how I remember Thomann being in days gone by. Everything has gone completely smoothly. I've ordered twice now - both on a Sunday night... both orders delivered by the following Wednesday morning. Now that's faster than Thomann fast. Big thumbs up from me.
 12.
Maybe ones with fish on?!
16.
I've pulled that gig, the monitoring wasn't up to much
Ah man, that's a shame. They have a killer video screen too.
 17. You just can't keep a good barefaced thread down.
 18. Good work! Should blow their socks off at the Tickled Trout.
 19.
Careful what you wish for, I said that yesterday as I got a bit of a scuff on my new TC RS112 the other day and said 'really I should get some covers'. My wife said 'Oh I will make you one' which is her normal answer - she makes hammocks for pets out of fleece, so I said, no thanks, I don't need a pink cupcake cover. Then later I went into the hall to get my stuff for the gig, and found this:
I've got 6 d&b audiotechnik monitors here. Do you think she could sort me out?
 20.
But saying all that, after EBS_Freak's post I'd say four combos is the only logical option really :-)
The above is two combos, two extension cabs.
 21. Why stop there?
 22.
Mine's the Attitude Special, one of the cheaper ones but with upgrades, awesome.
Seth Rogan. Is that you?
